What personal data we collect and why we collect it: Name and email for comments and sending emails. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third party embeds.
Akismet
We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name and email address (“Personal Information”). When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms: The information you provide in the forms may be collected by us in order to answer your requests. We keep that information for customer service purposes and reference, but we do not use the information submitted for marketing purposes nor to sell to third parties.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Analytics
We use Google Analytics and SiteGround which collect some anonymous analytics data.

Who we share your data with/How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
We keep contact form entries for ten years, analytics records for a year, and customer purchase records for ten years.
Stripe (an outside company) will collect your personal information including your payment information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Access to your AT account is secured by the password you choose. For your security, we do not store your password. This means that we don’t know your password and your password isn’t visible to us when we view your account.
To prevent unauthorized access to your account, choose a password that can’t be easily guessed and don’t share your password with anyone else. Whenever you use a shared computer or other shared device to access your AT account (for example, a school computer), be sure to log out of your account completely before you leave your workstation, uncheck the “remember me” option at login, and select “no” if the web browser prompts you to save your login credentials. You’re responsible for keeping your password confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you.
You can change or update your password anytime by visiting your My Account page. If you forget your password, you can request a reset password link.
3. DATA RETENTION
We will use your information for the reasons detailed in this Policy in order to deliver our Services to you while your account is active. If you no longer wish to be a Member of our Services, you can close your account with us at any time. If you close your account, your account is placed in an inactive state. We retain a record of your account information and only use your account information as needed, for example to provide account data (membership types, membership active dates, course information (language, level, ages) or to comply with a valid legal request or resolve a dispute, or to meet any legal requirements or obligations. We may also continue to include your data as part of ongoing data and usage analysis. You can restore your account at any time by logging in with your email or username and your password. After a year, we will delete your account and we’ll no longer send you marketing or other communications about your account or our Services. Contact us if you want your information removed sooner.
V. STUDENT DATA/PRIVACY
AT Services are directed at and intended for use by adults/educators only. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you should not use or attempt to use our Services or send any information about yourself to AT. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under the age of 13, we will take the appropriate measures to promptly remove that information from our Services.

VI. YOUR RIGHTS AND OPTIONS
It’s important to us that you have the ability to make choices about your personal information, so we provide you with options for managing your account and the information you give us.
1. ACCOUNT INFORMATION
You can view, update, and correct the information you’ve provided about yourself by visiting your My Account page. You can also remove any of the optional information you’ve provided. Information that is required (name, email, etc) will be indicated as such and can be updated but cannot be removed.
If you don’t want to have an account with us anymore, you can close your account at any time. You can find instructions on how to close your account here, or you can contact us for assistance.
2. SAVED PAYMENT SOURCE
Your saved Payment Card record can be edited or deleted from the checkout page. If you need assistance, you can contact us and we’ll be happy to remove any saved Payment Card records for you. This service is secured and supported by Stripe.com.
3. EMAIL PREFERENCES
AT uses your contact information to communicate with you about our services and to provide notifications related to your account or activity. Certain communications related to your account or your activity are required and you can’t opt out of receiving them. These include, but aren’t limited to, membership/purchase-related notifications, notifications related to changes that have been made to your login credentials or account details, and legal notifications. Other communications may not be required such as announcements about our Services, newsletters and messages with information you might be interested in, and other marketing and promotional messages. You can use the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any Optional Communication you receive.
4. OTHER
If you post comments or communications, any information you post will be visible by other Members and possibly the public. Contact us if you want to modify how your name appears on comments or to edit your comments.
Your Rights
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
5. INACTIVE ACCOUNTS
After a year of account inactivity, we purge your account and corresponding PII from the website.

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, and we strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information we store, in order to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and we are unable to guarantee the absolute security of the Personal Information we have collected from you.
If a breach or unauthorized release of your PII occurs, we will notify you by email within a week. We will contact the district (you are responsible for having your district person that we should contact to contact us with their contact information and keep that up to date if it changes). VII. CALIFORNIA RESIDENT RIGHTS
If you are a California resident, you have the rights outlined in this section. Please see the “Exercising Your Rights” section below for instructions regarding how to exercise these rights. Describe the purpose for which the PII will be used.
Names and emails will be used for email campaigns about updates, new products, teaching tips, password resets and other communication. Other information that is not required (languages taught, location, age group taught, etc) that the user submits, will be used to specify which email campaign they will receive.
User names, IP addresses and login times/dates are tracked to ensure terms of use are not being violated (example: sharing login with non-members).
Google Analytics is used to inform us of website behaviors and location, but the information is anonymous. Information is not collected or stored by Creative Language Class. We do not and will not sell PII to any outside company or organization.

Do you ensure the confidentiality of PII by implementing the following:
-password protection – Yes. User controls their username/password through WordPress. AdiosTextbook does not store this information.
-administrative procedures – If PPI is downloaded (Names/emails/additional information) to a computer, it is removed immediately after it is used. Example: To create a mailing list, it has to be downloaded first to a computer. After uploading it, the files are deleted/purged from computer.
Annually users and their information that have been inactive for a year are removed from AdiosTextbook site.
Members accept the terms of use and privacy terms when membership is activated. Any changes to privacy/terms of use are updated on the website and they are notified.
